The Air Force Academy Protects Storm Water Run-Off Quality

In the Air Force Community Housing, we need to be aware of how we can prevent pollutants from getting into our waterways through our storm drains. In the 2000 census, the Academy was classified as an urbanized area and it is anticipated that we will continue in this category. Some of the most common pollutants in our area are grease, trash, lawn chemicals and sediment. When pollutants like these are released into our waterways, they can disrupt and impair our water quality. It is very important that we make sure we are doing all we can to keep our water clean.
